Key Club Days 2021 is finally here! Join us at Key Club Days 2021 for a program packed with spirit, education, and service. This year, Key Club Days is being hosted as a hybrid event, where you can choose to join us virtually through Zoom, or virtually followed by an in-person component at Wild Waves Theme and Water Park in Federal Way, WA or at Oaks Amusement Park in Portland, OR. Both options have been thoughtfully designed to provide meaningful opportunities to engage with other Key Clubbers, take up tips for personal development, and contribute to the District Project: Help End Hunger. With the new hybrid programming, you get to join in on the fun through our virtual program regardless of where you live.

Virtual-only attendees will have the opportunity to listen to our keynote speaker, Erin Jones, participate in a variety of educational workshops, interact with other Key Clubbers throughout the district, and learn more about the District Project: Help End Hunger. In addition to this, all virtual attendees will receive an official program and Key Club merchandise mailed to their home.

In addition to participating in the virtual program, in-person attendees will be provided lunch, all-day admission to the theme park, fun team-building activities hosted by your LTGs, and a service project. In-person participants will also receive an official program and Key Club merchandise upon arrival at the theme park. In-person participants will need to travel to Wild Waves or Oaks Park after the virtual activities conclude. Virtual only activities will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 12:00 p.m. In-person activities will begin with lunch at 1:30 p.m. REGISTRATION CLOSES this SUNDAY, August 29, SO REGISTER NOW!

Tools and Tips to Make Your Start of the Year a Success

With the beginning of the 2021-22 year, keep in mind your club will need to collect dues.

Dues are $12.50 ($5.50 for the District and $7 for International) per member, and your club is welcome to increase these dues to cover club t-shirts or additional costs, per your club bylaws.

It is highly recommended that you submit dues by the Early Bird Deadline, November 1st. Submitting by then allows your club to qualify for the Early Bird Dues Patch! The Regular Dues Deadline is December 1st.

Dues will be paid through the Membership Update Center (MUC). The club secretary and faculty advisor have access to the Membership Update Center. The Membership Update Center will be closed from August 14 – September 7, 2021. During this time, clubs can still contact Member Services at memberservices@kiwanis.org to update membership records and pay dues for the current year. Membership supplies will not be shipped during this period and will resume on September 7, 2021.

On September 7th, the MUC will also open for the 2021-22 year and active clubs will be able to update membership records for the new year and begin receiving new member supplies. We suggest having your club secretary and treasurer log in and clean up the roster by deleting any members who may have graduated.

If you have any questions email District Treasurer Hailey Smith at treasurer@pnwkeyclub.org and District Administrator Brian Egger at administrator@pnwkeyclub.org.

With the beginning of the 2021-22 school year, your club will begin scheduling meetings, projects, and fundraisers in-person again to the extent state and local guidelines permit you to do so.

The Centers for Disease Control recently issued new guidance for COVID-19 Prevention in K-12 Schools. The guidance reminds us that vaccination is the leading public health prevention strategy to end the COVID-19 pandemic. Vaccination can also help schools safely return to in-person learning as well as extracurricular activities including Key Club.

Due to the circulating and highly contagious Delta variant, PNW Key Club recommends universal indoor masking by all members and advisors who participate in Key Club activities, regardless of vaccination status.

In addition to universal indoor masking, PNW Key Club recommends clubs maintain at least 3 feet of physical distance between students when indoors to reduce transmission risk. When it is not possible to maintain a physical distance of at least 3 feet, it is especially important to layer multiple other prevention strategies, such as screening and testing.

Questions regarding compliance with COVID-19 CDC guidelines and additional requirements that may be imposed by your school or school district, should be directed to your school’s administration.
