Hello, PNW Key Clubbers!

I hope you are all dismissed from school for the summer so you can get that much-needed rest and time for self-care. Take some time to reflect upon your club’s accomplishments and impact on your community this past year. It also may be time to think about what you could’ve done differently to make an even greater impact.

The summer months are a great time to keep members engaged and to continue participating in community service. I highly recommend partaking in some summer service to contribute to our 2023-2024 PNW District Project: The SEAD Initiative. The PNW District Project Committee has been hard at work to kickstart this new project. With 13,000 unaccompanied youth and young adults in Washington State, according to the Washington State Department of Commerce, we as community servants have many ways that we can contribute to this initiative and make significant change. Over the summer, consider volunteering at your local shelter or donating clothes to youth in need. Whether serving with your Key Club or on an individual basis, it’s a good idea to begin brainstorming and getting a sense of how your club can contribute to this initiative when the new school year begins.

Lastly, be sure to stay connected throughout the summer. I will continue to send Biweekly Updates, and the District will continue to be active on Instagram. Our District Committees are hard at work preparing webinars, resources, and support systems for you all, so be on the lookout. An up-and-coming event, for example, our annual PNW Key Club Days, which you can learn more about in the next section of this Biweekly.

If you have any questions, concerns, or ideas, please never hesitate to reach out to me at governor@pnwkeyclub.org or through Instagram @_nola.grace_. Keep up the good work, and continue to stay engaged!

Key Club Days 2023 Registration

If your division is not listed above as an on-site division, your division’s LTG will be hosting an off-site event on the same day the on-site events are taking place, so you can get the same experience as on-site Key Clubbers.

Additionally, this year’s virtual Key Club Days kick-off event will be available to you the night prior to each on-site event for free! This means you’ll get the opportunity to attend high-quality workshops at no cost to you. Keep a look out for the Google Form registration from the district or your division.

The Membership Growth and Reactivation Committee (MGRC) has been working hard to gather and create resources that will help your club prosper and grow when the new school year begins! To make things easy for you, they have created a Linktree that includes tips, tricks, and tools needed to help your club see growth this service year. These resources include guides on how to recruit 8th graders, conduct your club meetings, and much more. The MGRC Committee will continue to share and make resources throughout the year, so make sure to stay up to date by bookmarking the Linktree, which can be found below! If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions for the MGRC Committee, please don’t hesitate to contact our MGRC Chair, Keera Michie, at membership@pnwkeyclub.org

We are pleased to report that nearly all divisions have Lieutenant Governors now, some for the first time in many years. This is all thanks to the help of the advisors and Key Clubbers that nominated eligible students. However, we still need your help! Lieutenant Governors are vital to the health of each Key Club division and serve as the critical connection between the club and district levels. Clubs in divisions that have no Lieutenant Governors lack a consistent source of relevant updates, resources, and leadership.

The following divisions have Lieutenant Governor vacancies.

  • Division 9
  • Division 13/15/17
  • Division 52
  • Division 76
  • Division 78

If you or anyone you know is from one of these divisions and is interested in serving as a Lieutenant Governor during the 2023-2024 year, please contact me at governor@pnwkeyclub.org or District Administrator Brian Egger at administrator@pnwkeyclub.org for more information. I can assure you that serving on the District Board is an incredible experience and will help you develop your leadership skills.
