Greetings, PNW Key Clubbers,

I hope you had a restful Thanksgiving break, and were able to take a step back to appreciate the people, opportunities, and resources around you.

One of many things I’m thankful for is all of your and this opportunity to serve as District Governor. Each and every one of you continue to inspire me with the dedication, hard work, and time you put into Key Club and helping others. With Thanksgiving and the holiday season, I’ve been especially impressed with the efforts everyone has been putting in to help end food insecurity through Help End Hunger. I’m thrilled to announce that, as a District, we have already provided over 90,000 meals to families in need throughout the Pacific Northwest since April 1, 2022. We are well on track to meeting our goal of providing 100,000 meals by DCON 2023, as a result of your dedication.

You should all be incredibly proud of the work you have been doing to support our District Project and various other causes this year. I cannot wait to see what you continue to accomplish by DCON 2023, which will be from March 31-April 2, 2023, in Seattle, WA. Although it may seem far away now, it will come sooner than you expect, so please begin planning!

If you are ever in need of support, or have any questions, concerns, or ideas, please reach out to me at governor@pnwkeyclub.org

PNW Key Club is excited to announce that we are now working with the VING Project: VING, as in gi-VING, is empowering teens 14-18 years old to make a difference in their community by allowing teens to give a $1,000 grant to someone in need of assistance. The rules are simple. Nominees must be U.S. residents, non-extended or immediate family members, and in need of financial assistance to be eligible. All you have to do is create a video stating why the nominee is deserving of the $1,000 grant. That’s it! To learn more about the VING project, check out the slideshow below or visit their website. Nominations are evaluated on a rolling basis, so now is the time to get gi-VING!

The registration and election packets for District Convention 2023 have officially been released! DCON 2023 will be held in person from March 31-April 2, 2023 in Seattle, WA. For the first time in three years, Key Clubbers from all over the Pacific Northwest will meet fully in person and experience everything DCON has known to offer.

Linked below is the Call to Convention Video and Webinar Recording, where you can learn more about the convention, as well as the registration and election packets. The registration, candidate, and award forms must be submitted by Tuesday, February 1st, so please plan accordingly.

We are pleased to report that nearly all Divisions have Lieutenant Governors now, and some for the first time in many years. This is all thanks to the help of the advisors and Key Clubbers that nominated eligible students. However, we still need your help! Lieutenant Governors are vital to the health of each Key Club division, and serve as the critical connection between the club and district levels. Clubs in divisions that have no Lieutenant Governors lack a consistent source of relevant updates, resources, and leadership.

The following divisions have Lieutenant Governor vacancies.

  • Division 9
  • Division 22/24
  • Division 34
  • Division 42c
  • Division 52
  • Division 74
  • Division 78

If you or anyone you know is from one of these divisions and is interested in serving as a Lieutenant Governor during the 2022-2023 year, please contact me at governor@pnwkeyclub.org or District Administrator Brian Egger at administrator@pnwkeyclub.org for more information. I can assure you that serving on the District Board is an incredible experience and will help you develop your leadership skills.
