Hello, Pacific Northwest Key Clubbers!
I hope you are enjoying the many activities associated with the fall, including your first few Key Club meetings and fall-themed service projects.
As the school year becomes even busier, consider using tools like Google Calendar, Notion, or other platforms to ensure effective time management. One of the most important events, which requires significant planning, is DCON. While it may seem distant, I encourage you to begin thinking about DCON now. Our annual district convention is an extraordinary event—one that all members should have the privilege of experiencing at least once. As you prepare, check out resources like the PNW D-FIT to brainstorm fundraiser ideas. Registering for DCON is a long process, so do not hesitate to reach out if you need assistance.
With school back in session, I also encourage you to foster a strong relationship with your community Kiwanis Clubs by attending their meetings. By forming meaningful relationships with Kiwanians, you can gain their support, mentorship, and guidance, providing access to vast knowledge and broad community connections.
Planning for the future can often be overwhelming, so don’t forget to enjoy the present! High school is one of the most exciting times in your life. It is an experience that offers opportunities to learn, grow, connect with new people, and explore the various versions of yourself. There may be challenges throughout your high school experience, but savor the struggle as a chance to become stronger. Someday, we will look back on our memories of high school and be grateful for the many cherished memories we created. But for now, enjoy the moment, and allow yourself to have fun!
As a final note, I would like to acknowledge Hispanic Heritage Month, which is celebrated from September 15 to October 15, 2025. We can all spread positivity and inclusivity by continuing to perform meaningful acts of service.
Thank you for your dedication to Key Club and its mission to provide opportunities for leadership, character building, caring, and inclusiveness.
In Care and Service,
Gavin Ahumada

Your honest, thoughtful feedback will help us improve future events, enabling us to further enhance the membership experience. Share your thoughts with the forms linked below.

Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF
Costumes, candy, haunted houses — Halloween is always fun! But this year, it can mean even more. It’s the 75th anniversary of Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, and Key Club members like you have the chance to continue the tradition of turning Halloween into a force for good. Instead of just collecting candy, you can help raise money to support Start Strong: Zambia, our signature project with UNICEF, which is changing lives by supporting early childhood development.
Your efforts will help build insakas, sustainable community hubs in Zambia where young children and their families can access education, nutrition, and a safe space to grow. Each insaka includes classrooms, a community kitchen, a vegetable garden, sanitation facilities and a playground—everything a child needs to start strong.
Since 2022, Key Club members have raised over US$250,000, which is enough to fund seven insakas. Just imagine the impact we can generate together with your help!
Below are several resources that will empower you to contribute to our mission!
2025 Membership Campaign
The Membership Growth and Reactivation Committee (MGRC) has worked incredibly hard to generate goals for each individual club in the Pacific Northwest! The committee evaluated past membership trends, club histories, and school information, to create challenging—but attainable—membership goals. If each club achieves their goal, the Pacific Northwest’s membership will reach a mighty 13,400 Key Clubbers.
At this time, each Key Club officer and advisor should have received an email from the MGRC confirming club goals and requesting feedback on the attainability of these goals. If you have not yet received an email such as this, please contact MGRC Chair Svanik Bose and District Governor Gavin Ahumada directly at membership@pnwkeyclub.org and governor@pnwkeyclub.org, respectively.
Please reach out if you would like further assistance strategizing how your club can achieve their membership goals!

The Importance of Member Information
Attention, officers and advisors! As you hold your first few meetings of the year, please gather your members’ information so that you can communicate with them effectively. I have included an example membership information collection form below, which will allow you to collect vital information from your members. You can copy the questions from the example attached below into your own Google Form to ensure you receive the data from your members.
