Hello, PNW Key Club!
Hello, PNW Key Club!
My name is Lawrence McConnell, and I am honored to serve as your 2026–2027 Pacific Northwest District Governor. Following a successful District Convention filled with excitement, leadership, and a shared passion for service, I am beyond excited to continue serving alongside all of you in the year ahead. During the convention, I ran for District Governor on my LOVE platform, which outlines how I will serve each of you throughout this coming service year—leadership rooted in love for others, the opportunity to lead and create meaningful change, a focus on the value of volunteering, and an emphasis on empathy within the district board, our communities, and schools.
My goals this year include increasing secretary report rates, growing membership to 12,500 dedicated Key Clubbers, continuing to build momentum around our district project, increasing service hours across the district while improving the accuracy of their reporting, and ultimately fostering a culture that reflects care and a humanitarian heart. In a service organization, our focus is, and always will be, those who surround us and the communities we serve.
I am committed to working with each of you this year to accomplish these goals, with the district’s support. Cheers—here’s to another extraordinary year of service and dedication!
In Love and Service,
LawrenceMcConnell

Come to ICON 2026!
Key Clubbers, prepare yourself for the Key Club International Convention! ICON is an opportunity to gather with over 900 Key Clubbers from across the globe to hear about new programs, develop personal and professional skills, attend educational workshops, and elect the International Board for the upcoming year.
The 83rd Annual Key Club International Convention will occur from July 1-5, 2026, in Dallas, Texas. PNW Key Club will conduct its District tour from Monday, June 29, to Sunday, July 5. Included in the cost are round-trip airline reservations between Seattle and Dallas. The PNW Key Club District Tour also includes some meals, accommodations at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, convention registration fees, pins for trading, and admission to Six Flags Over Texas! The total tour cost is $1,450. Of this amount, a $500 deposit is due on Sunday, April 26, at 11:59 PM.
Attached below is the ICON 2026 Shop Link, the Registration Packet, and a Sponsorship Toolkit. You can offset some of the costs of the District Tour by requesting support from your club and local Kiwanis Clubs. Begin planning now!
Membership Survey
Key Club International wants to hear from you! Members, Officers, and Advisors are invited to complete a brief survey to share ideas, perspectives, and goals to help strengthen our organization and the Key Club experience.
Additionally, the district with the highest survey completion rate by April 23rd will receive $200 for district snacks at the 2026 International Convention. Help the Pacific Northwest win by completing the survey today!
Introducing: Key Club’s Big Pitch
Key Club International is launching a new competition, Key Club’s Big Pitch. This startup-style service project contest invites student teams to design high-impact service initiatives, partner with nonprofits, and pitch their ideas live at the 2026 Key Club International Convention in Dallas, Texas, U.S. Top teams will compete for Youth Opportunities Fund grants of up to US$10,000. Districts may submit an unlimited number of teams this year. Learn more about eligibility, deadlines, and how to participate below. Applications are due by May 1st, 2026.
ICON Workshop Applications are Now Open!
Key Club International is accepting workshop proposals for the 2026 Key Club International Convention, which will be July 1–5 in Dallas, Texas, U.S. This is your moment to step into the spotlight, lead a room, and inspire members. Whether your workshop is about an amazing service project, leadership tips, advocacy, fundraising, or something totally unique, we want to hear it. Presenting a workshop is an incredible way to grow as a leader, sharpen your public speaking skills, and make an impact at the international level within Key Club. The application deadline is May 8, so don’t delay!
Webinar: Nature-Based Solutions for Everyone
This Earth Day, join Key Club International, Circle K International, and The Nature Conservancy for a dynamic virtual gathering on April 22 at 5 PM PDT. A leading scientist will provide an informative overview of how healthy ecosystems—such as wetlands, grasslands, and forests—can help communities respond to a changing climate.
Participants will then move into interactive breakout sessions designed to spark ideas, build connections, and identify tangible environmental projects close to home. Attendees will walk away energized and equipped with practical next steps to lead environmental action in their schools and neighborhoods.
Key Club Walks are here!
In April 2026, we’re challenging you and everyone in your club to walk 3.75 miles and to raise $25 to give one person clean water for LIFE. The district that raises the most money will receive a special prize at the 2026 International Convention!
The GLC Masterclass is back!
The GLC Master Class is back once more! And at ICON 2026, attendees will be able to join a cohort of fellow Global Leadership Certificate participants. You do not want to miss this!
Participants must complete at least 30 GLC Courses, they must complete an application, and they must be registered for ICON 2026. Participants will also receive a $200 stipend! Begin your GLC journey with the link below!
Available District Leadership Opportunities
We are pleased to report that nearly all divisions are served by Lieutenant Governors. However, we still need your help! Lieutenant Governors are vital to the health of each Key Club division, as they create a critical connection between the club and district levels. Clubs in divisions that are not served by a Lieutenant Governor lack a consistent source of relevant updates, resources, and leadership.
The following divisions do not currently have a 2026-2027 Lieutenant Governor:
- Division 9
- Division 20i
- Division 20m
- Division 22/24
- Division 42v
- Division 45
- Division 50
- Division 52
- Division 74
- Division 76
- Division 78
- Division 80
If you or anyone you know is from one of these divisions and is interested in serving as a Lieutenant Governor during the 2026-2027 service year, please contact me at governor@pnwkeyclub.org or District Administrator Angela Bruhl at administrator@pnwkeyclub.org. Serving on the District Board is an incredible experience that provides opportunities to create change and develop as a leader.
