Ronald McDonald House Charities
What is the District Project?
The 2025-2026 district project is Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). Selected by this year’s District Governor, Gavin Ahumada, Ronald McDonald House Charities aims to alleviate struggles associated with lodging and meals, encountered by families whose children are receiving medical treatment far from home. In the Pacific Northwest District, there are seven RMHC locations: Anchorage, Alaska; Vancouver, British Columbia; Seattle, Washington; Spokane, Washington; Portland, Oregon; Springfield, Oregon; and Bend, Oregon. As Key Clubbers, there are a multitude of projects in which you can participate to support the District Project. The District Project committee has divided these projects into two main categories: in-house and out-of-house volunteering.
In-house volunteering provides Key Clubbers with a chance to volunteer at their respective facilities by going in person to donate essential items—which can be found on each respective RMHC location’s website—preparing a meal, volunteering around the house, or helping with whatever other tasks that are necessary to serve the many families staying at the Ronald McDonald House. To volunteer in-house, all you have to do is contact the volunteer coordinator and inquire about their volunteering options.
Out-of-house volunteering is accessible to all Key Clubs, especially for those that are physically distanced from an RMHC location. To volunteer out-of-house, consider hosting an item drive, fundraiser, care kit assembly, or a miracle minute. You can help by directly donating items or through monetary donations.
Our collective efforts will benefit RMHC and support their heartwarming mission. As a district, our goal is to earn 12,000 service hours and raise $10,000 in monetary donations.
The Impact of Ronald McDonald House Charities
Across the globe, RMHC provides more than just a place to stay. With 387 Houses in over 60 countries, and 271 family spaces inside hospitals, parents and siblings can remain close to loved ones as they receive specialized, life-saving treatment. In the Bay Area, where 56% of families face food insecurity, RMHC provides meals and support. In 2023 alone, families experienced 2.7 million overnight stays, turning moments of hardship into moments of family unity.
Keeping families close since 1974.

How the PNW District Will Be Involved
Service
Key Clubbers can become involved by volunteering directly at RMHC houses, preparing meals for families, or dropping off essential items. These hands-on activities help provide comfort and support to families during challenging times. You can also simply contact the assigned point of contact at your nearest RMHC to inquire about other service opportunities. This is the easiest way to become involved!
Fundraising
Members can organize fundraisers, host events like miracle minutes, and create campaigns to raise money for RMHC programs. Every effort ensures families have the resources they need to stay close to their children.
When donating funds to the district project, you can do so online via the PNW Key Club shop, or you can send the donation via mail. To do this, convert all cash donations to check, which can be made payable to PNW Key Club. Write the name of the Key Club and “District Project: RMHC” on the memo line, and send the check to the following address:
Pacific Northwest Key Club
1024 Marine Drive

Education
Key Clubbers can learn about RMHC through district-provided resources, promotional videos, and in-house tours. They can also connect with local Ronald McDonald Houses and invite speakers to share their stories at Key Club events, helping members understand the impact of their service and fundraising efforts.
