Biweekly Update #18

Happy Holidays, Pacific Northwest!

I know that many of us are anxiously awaiting our Winter Breaks as we overcome difficult finals and the last portion of schoolwork for 2025. I wish each of you the best of luck as you wrap up your final assignments!

There are also plenty of updates from PNW Key Club as Winter Break approaches. With two webinars this week, a variety of updates from Key Club International, and opportunities for Key Clubbers to engage in meaningful internship opportunities through a non-profit organization, this Biweekly Update is packed with information. Please reach out with any questions or concerns.

I hope you have a wonderful holiday season!

Campaign Continues (Even after the Dues Deadline!)

While the dues deadline has passed, the Membership Campaign does not end! Please continue adding members throughout the year to work toward your club membership goals. With exciting incentives, we hope that PNW Key Clubbers will continue striving to share the joy of Key Club with more students throughout the district!

Let’s achieve our membership goal of 13,400 Key Club members!

Crucial Webinars

This week, two major webinars are rapidly approaching!

TODAY at 6:00 PM, the DCON Committee will host their DCON 2026 Registration Webinar. During this virtual event, attendees will view a step-by-step tutorial of the registration process, and they will learn more about DCON speakers and awards.

TOMORROW at 7:30 PM, the Executive Committee, in collaboration with two Lieutenant Governors and our very own International Trustee, will host the Running for Higher Office Webinar, where Key Clubbers can learn more about the various leadership roles available to them, including those of Lieutenant Governor, District Executive Officer, and International Board Member. This will be an informational and engaging webinar!

It is also important to note that all candidates for Lieutenant Governor are required to attend this webinar with a parent or guardian. Candidates who are unable to attend the webinar with a parent or guardian must contact District Administrator Brian Egger (administrator@pnwkeyclub.orgbefore submitting their candidate paperwork. Feel free to explore the 2026-2027 LTG Candidate Packet linked below.

See you at our upcoming webinars!

Perks for Paying Dues

  • Leadership development opportunities in your district and internationally.
  • Access to Global Leadership Certificate sessions.
  • Ability to apply for grants and scholarships.
  • Training for advisors.
  • Insurance coverage.

Apply to become a Water Warrior!

Water Warriors serve as a liaison between each district in KCI and Thirst Project, a Key Club International Preferred Charity. They will also attend and actively engage in regular meetings.

The Water Warrior term ends at ICON, and applicants from all grade levels are welcome and encouraged to apply. Applications are due January 1, 2026, at 11:59 PM PT.

Summer Leadership Initiatives Internships

Leadership Initiatives is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering exceptional high school students. Their mission is to provide transformative opportunities that offer real-world experience, help students explore potential career paths, and cultivate essential leadership skills. Through Summer Internship Programs at Georgetown University, they equip the next generation of leaders with the knowledge, confidence, and tools they need to thrive and make a lasting impact on their futures. Through the internships offered by Leadership Initiatives, students hold internships with real law firms, business development organizations, security agencies, and hospitals to build their resume and their knowledge.

Builders Club x Key Club Webinar Recording

On November 20, 2025, the Kiwanis-Family Relations Committee hosted an informative and engaging webinar, featuring guest speakers, one of whom is a Builders Club alumna.

I know that many Key Clubbers often wish for the opportunity to serve in Key Club for just “one more year!” While we cannot travel back in time, we, as current Key Clubbers, can give our younger peers the opportunity to begin their servant leadership journey even earlier, opening a new world of opportunity for middle school students upon their entry into high school. Let’s work together to charter Builders Clubs throughout the Pacific Northwest!

Time to Plan Club Officer Elections!

Clubs are asked to please host their club officer elections in late January or early February. This allows newly-elected officers to attend DCON officer training, provides an opportunity for new officers to seek the mentorship of their predecessor as the school year continues, and it ensures that experienced Lieutenant Governors can assist your club during the transition. This month, please identify a date, time, and format for your club officer elections. Also, develop a plan for promoting elections and encouraging qualified members of your club to seek leadership positions.

The service year will conclude before we know it!

Advisor Town Hall Resources

Huge thanks to the advisors who attended our October Advisor Town Hall on October 30, 2025! I hope it was helpful. For those who could not attend, please feel free to view the slideshow and recording using the links below. Stay tuned for our Winter Advisor Town Hall in January!
