Hello, PNW Key Clubbers!
I hope you had a great year. It was an honor to serve alongside you throughout the 2025-2026 service year. I learned so many important lessons, experienced moments that will forever be fond memories, and I met countless wonderful people at Key Club Days, DCON, and during official visits. Before the conclusion of the service year, I would like to provide an update on my goal to foster Growth, Integration, Value, Energy, and Service, my original GIVES platform.
This year, we managed impressive growth, particularly by chartering eight Key Clubs and reactivating one Key Club. The efforts of our Membership Growth and Reactivation Committee to host the annual Membership Campaign resulted in our ability to offer support and incentives to clubs. For example, over 82 Key Clubbers were invited to the 2026 Governor’s Reception, while 70 Key Clubs throughout the District achieved their membership goals. We also sold out our annual District Convention, reaching the maximum occupancy of 1,600! We look forward to incredible growth at the Seattle Convention in 2027!
The Kiwanis-Family Relations Committee has embodied the idea of integrating the Kiwanis Family. Not only have they worked persistently to increase awareness of all Kiwanis-Family branches through creative social media campaigns, but they re-inaugurated Key Club Alumni Events! In December 2025, the K-Fam Relations Committee, Chaired by Sawyer Sullivan, hosted the first post-pandemic Key Club Alumni Event in Seattle, Washington. If you are a graduating senior or an advisor and former Key Clubber, keep an eye out for details about our 2027 Key Club Alumni Event, and do not hesitate to contact me with any questions!
The District improved the value of the membership through a number of initiatives. The PNWOF this year disbursed over $7,500 to clubs, empowering them to implement impactful service projects. Our Key Club Days events engaged over 400 Key Clubbers, and our work continues as we aim to update the OTC Curriculum for the 2026-2027 Club Officers! To increase the value of the membership experience, accountability was improved for one of the most crucial roles of the District Board: visiting Key Cubs to offer our support and meet the wonderful club officers and club members who work with dedication and persistence to make a difference. By interacting with Key Club members directly, we hope that we can continue to understand your challenges and accomplishments, providing support when needed and celebrating every achievement.
Regarding the new District Project this year and our efforts to energize the district’s support of this organization, we served over 9,500 hours and raised $6,953.96 supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities and its mission to “keep families close.” To further energize the District Project, the District Project Toolkit has been updated with resources throughout the year, and we had the opportunity to award four RMHC Heroes at our 76th annual District Convention!
As a district, we reported 61,646.36 hours of service through monthly Secretary Reports. Personally, I remained committed to supporting each individual Lieutenant Governor this year, while also remaining accessible to club officers in Monthly Officer Correspondence. Other members of the Executive Committee also conducted individual conferences with club officers throughout the district, to more accurately understand their challenges so we can better support the members of our organization.
It was an incredibly fulfilling year serving as your District Governor. I am immensely grateful for those who have made it such a great year, including my fellow Executive Committee Officers, the Committee Chairs and Lieutenant Governors on the District Board, the Adult Kiwanis Committee who support each student on the District Board, and the thousands of PNW Key Clubbers throughout the District. Thank you for this extraordinary opportunity, and thank you for your continued commitment to Key Club. For those of you who will be graduating, I hope you take every valuable lesson and fond memory from your time in Key Club into your next chapter. And for those of you who will be entering the 2026-2027 service year ready for another term of Key Club, I hope that you will continue expanding upon your Key Club experience to broaden your impact.
In Care and Service,
Gavin Ahumada

The Nature Conservancy: Nature-Based Solutions for Everyone
This Earth Day, join Key Club International, Circle K International, and The Nature Conservancy for a dynamic virtual gathering on April 22 at 5 PM PDT. A leading scientist will provide an informative overview of how healthy ecosystems—such as wetlands, grasslands, and forests—can help communities respond to a changing climate.
Participants will then move into interactive breakout sessions designed to spark ideas, build connections, and identify tangible environmental projects close to home. Attendees will walk away energized and equipped with practical next steps to lead environmental action in their schools and neighborhoods.
Key Club Walks is almost here!
In April 2026, we’re challenging you and everyone in your club to walk 3.75 miles and to raise $25 to give one person clean water for LIFE. The district that raises the most money will receive a special prize at the 2026 International Convention!
Global Leadership Certificate Master Class
The GLC Master Class is back to help Key Clubbers expand their leadership through interactive, intentional activities that foster critical thinking about our leadership style. Participants will learn more about GLC topics, such as connection, public speaking, networking, inclusion, feedback, being an agent of change, and other essential leadership ideas. Through the GLC Master Class, Key Clubbers can prepare to make a greater difference in their communities.
For a list of eligibility requirements, review the application now and submit it by May 27, 2026!
Available District Leadership Opportunities
We are pleased to report that nearly all divisions are served by Lieutenant Governors. However, we still need your help! Lieutenant Governors are vital to the health of each Key Club division, as they create a critical connection between the club and district levels. Clubs in divisions that are not served by a Lieutenant Governor lack a consistent source of relevant updates, resources, and leadership.
The following divisions do not currently have a 2026-2027 Lieutenant Governor:
- Division 9
- Division 20i
- Division 20m
- Division 22/24
- Division 30
- Division 42v
- Division 45
- Division 50
- Division 52
- Division 74
- Division 76
- Division 78
- Division 80
If you or anyone you know is from one of these divisions and is interested in serving as a Lieutenant Governor during the 2026-2027 service year, please contact me at governor@pnwkeyclub.org or District Administrator Brian Egger at administrator@pnwkeyclub.org. Serving on the District Board is an incredible experience that provides opportunities to create change and develop as a leader.
