Our second recipient of the PNWOF grant, Auburn Riverside High School, was awarded $100 for their Houseless Care Packages project. The club used the grant to purchase supplies for care packages to help support local high school youth experiencing houselessness. Each care package included basic necessities such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, hair elastics, deodorant, hand warmers, and socks. These supplies were all put inside a reusable tote bag for the recipient. They donated the bags to the Coffee Oasis’s The Loft Youth Center, a youth shelter in Tacoma that provides a safe and encouraging place to live for houseless, struggling youth.
