It’s Friday, which means another #WhatsPoppinPNW! This week, we are featuring Kamiakin Key Club from Division 54 & their PNWOF-funded project Soup for Souls. Soup for Souls was a staple event for my Key Club this year. At least once a month, our club served the homeless a warm meal, while also providing them a safe and welcoming environment. At each event, we’d set up the area at the church we used and prep the food for the first hour or so. Then for the remainder of each event, we’d serve everyone and sit down and visit with them. This year in particular was awesome running this event as we received the PNWOF grant which we used to gather our resources and go above what we have done in the past by doing things like making goodie bags with snacks, water bottles, and toiletries. It was by far the most popular event for my club.
